About the speaker:

RICARDO DE CAMARGO got his Ph.D in 1998 from the University of Sao Paulo. Dr. CAMARGO is currently anassociate professor at the Department of Atmospheric Sciences of the Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics of the University of Sao Paulo. Dr. CAMARGO’s main research interests are in Climatology, Meteorology and Oceanography. He is now the Co-Principal Investigator of Extreme wind and wave modeling and statistics in the Atlantic Ocean under the Sao Paulo Research Foundation and Science and Technology Foundation, and Western South Atlantic Climate Experiment under Brazilian Oil Company.He has authored or co-authored more than 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, with a citation about 800 times by Google Scholar.
