Research
Laboratory of Biological Oceanography
Date:2019/07/04

The laboratory has elemental analyzer (EA), a laboratory fluorometer, a ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer, a cell analyzer, a Phyto-Pam chlorophyll fluorescence system, a photorespiration system, a laser granularity analyzer (LISST), a laser optical plankton counter (LOPC), other advanced instruments and sensors, and a large artificial climate chamber for observing dissolved oxygen (DO) and photosynthetically active radiation and a removable biological experimental container laboratory. These instruments allow for the study of physiology, habits and populations of marine organisms and their responses to climate change and human disturbance, and the genetic resources, biodiversity and energy transformation processes in polar and extreme environments. The laboratory has been working on major scientific and technological issues such as the sustainability of the global marine ecosystem and the rational use of marine living resources, and multi-level and multi-angle innovative research on the life phenomena and life activities and their connections with the energy flow in the ocean.
